What is agentic voice?

Every vendor says "agentic voice." Almost none of them mean a voice agent that another agent created an hour ago. This is about that version: what changed in September to make it real, what keeps a spawned agent inside the company's rules, and why it cannot be tied to the platform that built it.

An open standard for voice agents is released: UNMUTE//

Pick a voice agent platform today and your agent stays there. Build on Pipecat and it won't run on LiveKit Agents without a rewrite, and the reverse is just as true. Whatever a team learns about its callers ends up encoded in one vendor's prompts and one framework's plumbing. The voice IP belongs to the stack, not to the company that built it. UNMUTE//, released September 16, is an open, declarative standard for voice agents built to fix that. It was created at SLNG and is published under the MIT license as a separate repository with an open source CLI.

What people built at {Tech:Europe} Paris

Hackathons are making a comeback. When one model announcement chases the last by about 12 hours, it's hard to keep up from your desk. People want a room, a deadline, and other builders around them. Hackathons are perfect for that, whether you are a student building a portfolio or a professional developer testing the waters for the next big thing.
